A Primer on PLC’s

Today we’re going to establish a basic understanding of PLC programming and how TPK can help your facility in the integration of automated systems.

PLC stands for Programmable Logic Controller. A PLC is a teachable unit that is used to automatically control a combination of systems and components.

These controllers can most easily be understood as a central control unit, which uses a form of instruction protocol to send the proper commands throughout any given system. These systems are most widely used in manufacturing, packaging, quality control, and conveyor applications.

Turnpike Controls specializes in the creation, review, and refinement of these programs within our customers facilities. We don’t just use one type of controller or programming software; instead, we tailor our solutions based on what the customers preferences are or what is already existing within their facility. Turnpike controls will also act as a consultant on what can be used to either update an existing system or help make decisions on what should be purchased for new additions.
